Our U3A follows the ethos of being a self help collaborative learning organisation, where members are asked to take up an active role in groups so as to enjoy learning together.
From time to time the GC of a particular group may wish to step down and hand over their duties to another person to take the group forwards. This doesn’t have to be one person alone but can be several taking care of different aspects, for example the general admin and the tech side (Simple Membership and group email), along with someone to organise the programme and book the venue.
The following is a list of such groups who are in danger of closing down should someone not step forward soon. If you can help please contact the Group Liaison Officer for discussion on what’s involved, and you will receive support in getting started with all aspects of running a group.
Local History Group: GC of this group wishes to step down as soon as possible, and hand over the group to some other volunteers to continue. Ideally this should consist of several people, with someone taking care of each aspect such as the tech side (Simple Membership and email) and others organising the programme with the help of others in the group. If you can assist with this please contact the Group Liaison Officer as above to discuss further . Should nobody step forward soon, then the group may have to close down.
