About the group
Our summer 2021 programme started with 13 of us meeting together in an outdoor park in May for a socially distanced chat and a brimming over plant table. It was cut short by a sudden rain storm! In June 14 of us visited Glebe Farm Garden and were entertained by the owner, David Hilliard, who was so enthusiastic about how his garden had evolved showing us its many intriguing corners. This was followed by the opportunity to enjoy the variety of cakes Mrs Hilliard had produced, sat in their sunny courtyard, or in the shade – it was a very hot, sunny afternoon. In July 12 of us ventured to Evenley Wood Gardens and had a guided tour, explaining some of the history and future plans for the woodland, involving more herbaceous planting to make it a great all season area. They have introduced a glamping experience too.
We didn’t meet in August, and tomorrow, 15th September we are heading just beyond Bicester to Rousham Garden – fingers crossed for a dry day.
This month, October, we have a garden designer talking about how to design a border. November is a demonstration of Christmas wreath making and December is a Christmas quiz and general gathering together. Before we know it will be 2022!
November and December still to be arranged.
