About the group

The Gardening Group meets every first Tuesday of the month with the exception of January and August when no meetings take place.  Meetings are usually about 2 hrs in length with tea & biscuits and a raffle.

On Tuesday 3rd July, a group of about twenty people went to visit Close Cottage in Soulby near to Leighton Buzzard.  This was a beautiful garden in many layers.  The first impression was of a large patio with giant size table but as soon as you left this area, the garden divided into many different areas, some large and some more intimate.  At the top, there was a lawn and beyond a field.  The blackcurrants were just ripe for picking and the flower gardens were full.  Daniel, one of the owners said they don’t have trouble with weeds as they over plant with flowers!  Later we had a good afternoon tea, and but for the fact, we did not want to over stay our welcome, we could still,be sitting there. It felt so comfortable.  Following this article, there are some examples of the lovely relaxed planting.

No meeting in August and the programme starts again in September with a visit to Boughton Castle.

We have vacancies for new members, so please make contact with me if you are interested.
