About the group
Our friendly German group currently has nine members, meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
We all have a previous knowledge of German and are also fortunate to have two native German speakers in our group. The focus for each session is chosen by the host, so we always have an interesting mix of activities, e.g. general conversation, reading German articles, poems, doing crosswords and quizzes, watching videos, translating – in fact anything German language-related. In addition, we are just about to start reading ‘Falsche Zungen’ by Ingrid Noll – a collection of short stories with a slightly dark humour!
‘Kaffee und Kuchen’ seems to have become a regular feature at our meetings now. We also organise outings from time to time and our next get-together will be at a local hotel for some Kaffeeklatsch – with cake, of course!
