About the group
The Exploring the Past group has a membership of about 25 people who meet on the first Monday of each month. Last year our theme was the development of the garden and following a talk on this subject we visited Canon's Ashby, Rousham and Rodmartin to see three different periods of design from Tudor to the Arts and Crafts movement. However we also had other visits including Rockingham Castle and Lichfield.
During the winter months we have talks in the St Laurence Room, Winslow, but from April to September we go on half or full day visits. This year we are concentrating on the development of the house. Our first visit will be to Baddsley Clinton and over the summer we will continue to visit houses of different styles and periods. We will continue this theme for at least another year as there are so many places to visit and we hope to finish in the C20th with a visit to Nuffield House and a garden city.
