Local History group visit to Magdalen College Oxford on 7th July.

The  Local History group has arranged a visit to Magdalen College, an invitation is extended to other U3A members.

If you would like to join in then you MUST contact Rodney Glew by email local.history1@buckinghamu3a.org.uk

We will be catching the X5 at 9.40am at Buckingham Bus Stand (nearest parking is the Waitrose  car park) – then at Oxford Bus Station take the `Tube` a bus which will drop us off in the High Street just a short walk from the entrance to the college.

Nearby is the Queens Lane Coffee House (supposed to be the oldest coffee shop in Europe). Ed spoke to the manageress and she said she can take us for lunch. As we need to give her some idea of numbers please let Rodney Glew know if you will be coming by the 4th July.

The college also does snacks and light lunches if anyone would prefer to lunch there.
We can use our bus passes on all buses.

£7 admission to college (concessions) with an option to purchase a combined ticket that includes entrance to the University Botanic Gardens. These are located across the road from the college.

Please note that payment is by card only – no cash.

Not too much walking, so this should be a nice trip out.

This is a self guided visit/outing so you can return to Buckingham, on the X5, at leisure, as and when you are ready.
