Slade, which is located next to the Buckingham communal tip at Yonder Slade, is now open to all members and non members who would like to try the sport.
During the months of July and August we will be open from 9.00 am to 12 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During this period there will be no charge for use of the rinks, although tea or coffee will cost £1.
So it’s a great opportunity to come along loosen up ready for the autumn season, or just come along to try your hand and see if it’s something you would like to pursue. We can provide bowls equipment so just turn up with clean flat soled shoes. You will be sure of a warm welcome.

As we emerge into something a bit less restricted, the Royal Literary fund have asked me (Judith Allnatt) to run a weekly group called ‘Reading Round’ at MK Gallery in Milton Keynes and I’m very keen to do it as it’s right up my street! I’ll be presenting short stories and poems each week to discuss with the group how the writers have created their effects. It’s aimed at making us more perceptive readers and, whilst there is no creative writing involved, I wondered if it might interest you or any of your writing group members as they will have a natural interest in learning how great writers use their craft and will be keen readers too, I’m sure.
